The remaining events are a panel discussion about Colonialism in Puerto Rico, India, and the Philippines on May 9 and a spoken word presentation from Palabristas on May 10th.
All events are presented in as part of the production of Bandara. Tickets to Bandara can be purchased by visiting bandara.brownpapertickets.com
Bandara follows stories in India, Puerto Rico, and New York. The loneliness of city life, interplays of mixed heritage, experiences of being displaced, medical and scientific discourses, physical and virtual incarnations, and the feeling that time and perception can be non-lineal, come together in the piece. Monkey stories and motifs in different Asian and Latino cultures resonate through a theatrical experience intended to involve the audience meditatively, inviting them to open their senses. Bandara will run May 2 through May 18 at the Old Arizona Studio in Minneapolis.
May 2 – 18, Friday and Saturday at 7:30 p.m., Sun at 4:30 p.m.
