Pangea World Theater presents the Midwest Regional Premiere of TeAda Production's

MASTERS OF THE CURRENTS

About The Event

How do we uphold culture? How much do we have to give up to assimilate? Follow three Micronesian youth on their journey of identity growing up in Hawai'i, and the conflicts they must overcome to be accepted by their peers while still holding on to the history and rich cultural traditions of their ancestral islands of Micronesia. As sea levels rise and political tensions escalate creating new refugees, worlds of culture collide. When we get there, whatever side of the shore we are on, we must remember that we are all on the same boat.

This production is the first nationally touring play about Micronesians in the U.S., co-presented with TeAda Productions, taking place at the Mixed Blood Theater.

THE BROTHERS PARANORMAL

About The Event

In response to a nationwide increase in sightings of “Asian- looking ghosts,” two entrepreneurial Thai-American brothers launch a ghost-hunting business. When the siblings investigate the home of an African American couple displaced by Hurricane Katrina, what’s real and what’s fantasy clash against a shocking truth. This witty and haunting story is brought to you in partnership by Theater Mu and Penumbra Theatre.
