There are two specific needs to which the theatre residency project caters: The community’s need and the school’s need for cross-cultural bridges, and the students’ need for positive arts programming. Our drama program assists schools in meeting their arts curriculum while emphasizing customized subjects such as Spanish language skills, history, diversity and creative drama. Teachers and artist work together in developing the residency’s focus in order to meet the needs of the classroom.

Students are encouraged to use their imaginations and stretch their boundaries in a nurturing and positive environment. Residencies offer unique learning experiences that complement existing language, history and humanities curriculum while exposing students to the art of theatre.
Celebrate cultural diversity by exposing non-Latino students to a unique cultural heritage while celebrating that heritage with Latinos in the population.
