Los Profanadores de la Calle Arenas
Playwrights’ Center · Saturday, December 14th, 7pm – 9pm · Doors open at 6:30pm
Teatro del Pueblo Visión-es Program is excited to present a work-in-progress showing of Los Profanadores de la Calle Arenas created and directed by Lelis Brito. Entirely in Spanish, this event immerses guests in the narrative of a family of graverobbers living in a Caribbean cemetery fifty years in the future when the days are hotter, water is scarcer and they are torn between what they desire and what the world wants for them. Experience song, movement, and some participation. As our guest, be part of the initial creation through your attendance and feedback.
The cast includes Alejandra Iannone, Alex Barreto Hathaway, Alfonso Lichtenwalter, Johanna Keller Flores, José Sabillón, Juan Fiz-Torezani, Masanari Kawahara, Mariadela Belle Alvarez, Samuel Osborne-Huerta, and Sheila Colmenares. The artistic team features set dressing by Mikha Dominguez.
This project is supported by a grant from the Map Fund.
Tickets are free and can be reserved here.

Teatro del Pueblo is proud to stand beside Penumbra Theatre, Mu Performing Arts, New Native Theatre and Pangea World Theater as a member of the Twin Cities Theatres of Color Coalition (TCTOCC). The coalition formed to build knowledge, capacity, and take action around the challenges and opportunities of diversification in the American theatre. We lead conversations, making available the wealth and depth of knowledge housed in our theatres through the dissemination of tools, practices, and consultation to bolster responsible and accountable engagement around the representation of our communities.
